• General questions
Q: It seems that I have found a bug (abnormal behaviour) in
your product, how to fix it?
A: Use the contact form and describe
in details when and how it appears. We'll advise you how to temporarily
avoid it and will fix the bug in the forthcoming release.
Q: I have a good idea on what to improve in your product.
A: Use the contact form,
we always like to hear good recommendations.
Q: When you'll release a new version of a product?
A: In most cases we cannot tell, because development is a creative
process where any unforeseen problems may suddenly arise. Small bugfix
releases usually take from a couple of days to a pair of weeks.
Q: I cannot find an answer I am looking for in this FAQ.
A: Use the contact form and we'll
answer your question for sure.

Q: Even with the strongest preset I cannot remove all the noise/artifacts.
A: Try to turn on the Boost twice box.
Q: I cannot find a preset that would be able to remove all
the noise/artifacts and leave the needed details simultaneously.
A: Try to load a preset that leaves a moderate amount of noise/artifacts
unfiltered and then check the Boost twice box.
Q: I am not impressed with the noise removal results. Photoshop
does it better.
A: Try to load other presets: Moderate Photo Noise, Strong
Photo Noise. If you are still unsatisfied increase the Filtration
threshold value. If there are too many dot-like artifacts are left
lower the Average-difference correction value.
Q: The overall noise has been removed but there is a lot of
bright dots left which cannot be removed without sacrificing image details.
A: Switch to the Fine Artifacts Removal instrument and load
the Light Hot Pixels preset. If too many details are removed lower
the Filtration threshold value or increase it if otherwise. If
you are still unsatisfied with the result push the Select dirty spot
button and click on any of those dots inside the preview rectangle.
Q: Nova Sharpen gives too subtle results.
A: Increase the Sharpen power value. If results are still
unsatisfactory increase the Weight measurement diameter.
If you are working in the Advanced mode increase the Maximum smoothing
diameter too; if it causes too many details to become smeared decrease
it and increase the Weight measurement diameter alone.
Q: Nova Sharpen gives the outlining effect on contrast objects'
edges.
A: Increase the Sharpen threshold value, if it doesn't help,
lower the Weight measurement diameter.
Q: Nova Sharpen gives the bright dot artifacts on contrast
objects' corners.
A: Check the Post-smoothing box.

Q: I am using the HTML output format, how to make all the links
to files relative instead of absolute?
A: Click Advanced Options, check the Custom root
box and leave the field to the right of the box empty.
• Discontinued products
Q: What are the discontinued products?
A: It is a product which development has been stopped for an undefined
period. The current version of such product is most probably the last.
Q: Why have they become discontinued?
A: We are a small company and it's too hard to develop so many
products at once. We have selected the most developmentally and commercially
perspective ones for further development and made the others "discontinued".
In future we plan to leave only one product to concentrate on, most probably
it will be Cleanerzoomer.
Q: I have a trouble with an discontinued product, can you help?
A: Yes, use the contact form
and we'll try to give you an advise you what can be done to avoid the
problem. We cannot make a bugfix release unless the problem is totally
unavoidable.
• Framerate
Converter HQ
Q: I have the message "Cannot get movie info. Possible
the file is broken" but I know that the file is okay.
A: The most common reason is that the audio is not uncompressed
(usually in the MP3 or similar format). FRCHQ supports only uncompressed
PCM audio. Use VirtualDub
(freeware) to recompress it.
Q: I still cannot open a file.
A: There are two basic limitations for source AVI files in FRCHQ:
they should be not larger than 2 GB (2048 MB) and frame width should be
even number (e.g. 320, 752, 180, etc.). Both of these problems can be
solved using VirtualDub
(freeware). For loading files larger than 2 GB use the frame-serving interface
of VirtualDub
(do not forget to install the needed DLL files using AuxSetup.exe). To
fix the frame size use the "Resize" filter of VirtualDub.
If the file is still not loadable try to recompress it using another codec,
the good one is the lossless HuffYUV
codec (freeware).
Q: I cannot save a file.
A: Try another codec, for example HuffYUV
(freeware).
